The Jr. Panther tackle program is comprised of six (6) levels of play which all compete in the SEYFA (South Eastern Youth Football Alliance). Teams will be guaranteed Seven (7) games in a given season. Eight (8) games may be played in a particular grade if there are an even number of teams at that grade level. Teams are dependant on program size and may offer multiple teams at each level. There are specific grade, age, and weight restrictions at each level. Generally, the levels are divided into the following levels: 1st/2nd Grade (age 6-8), 3rd/4th Grade (age 9-10), 5th Grade (age 10-11), 6th Grade (age 11-12), 7th Grade (age 12-13) and 8th Grade (age 13-14). No players 15 years of age are eligible to play in the SEYFA (must not turn 15 before August 1st.) No child beyond the eighth grade is eligible to participate. Grade(s) are as of the grade the player is entering in September. Divisions are broken down further by weight once practice begins. Weight and age parameters are shown below. Coaches evaluate each player and will then determine at which level the player participates. Players are eligible to move up one grade level with coach and board approval but at no time will any player be allowed or asked to play up more than one grade level. Players may never move down a grade level unless accelerated in grade academically and brought up to the WKCYF & SEYFA Board.
Players must be signed up and assigned to a team no later than the first regular season game (Week 1). Any player additions after the first regular season game must be approved by the SEYFA board.
